Bullet Journaling Basics: Should You Try It?

Written by Anthony Ongaro

Hello again, it’s me, Anthony—AKA, The Last Productivity YouTuber On Earth To Try Bullet Journaling.

Sure, I’ve tried it before and failed. It’s not pens or notebooks that are the issue. I’ve always loved those things. There’s something about the experience of putting pen to paper that really does it for me. But the plan your whole life and make it pretty part? Never really clicked—until recently.

Here’s what I cover in the introductory bullet journaling video above.

  • What is Bullet Journaling?
  • Who is it for?
  • What do you need to get started?
  • How should you start?
  • Overcoming complexity.

I’ve finally managed to get into bullet journaling consistently for the last 60+ days and deepened my understanding of it. It’s improved my productivity and made it easier to keep track of different projects and habits. If you haven’t tried it before, I’d definitely recommend it!

There are also analog benefits to bullet journaling as well. I chat more about the benefits of analog planning and creating in a member-only video interview with my buddy, Matt Ragland—a bullet journaling and productivity guy.

For those curious about my favorite tools:

  • Really awesome notebook (The Confidant)
  • Great non-slip set of rulers (Available Here)
  • Absolute favorite pens (Brush tip!)
