Calming The Desire For More

Written by Anthony Ongaro

Calming Desire For More

Well, it’s about eight months in to our minimalist journey and I’m still calming the desire for more things almost every day.

There’s the Canon 70D camera body with the EF-S 10-22mm wide-angle lens that Casey Neistat uses for his daily vlogs. The Zig Zagger skateboard that a friend recommended to me a few weeks ago (even though I have no idea how to skateboard yet). Unfortunately, those are just the ones that came to mind and while I could go on, I’ll spare you the list. It seems that finding things to want still comes quite naturally to me.

Stepping Away: 60 Days Without Social Media

Written by Anthony Ongaro

In a Break the Twitch first, I’m excited to offer you this interview with my friend Michale Sevy, a fantastic guy who also happens to be an Interactive Producer, traveler, and incredible photographer (the above photograph is one of his). A rush of dopamine flows into the brain just as quickly as the money flows out of our bank account. A brief feeling of accomplishment occurs (read more about the false first step). Then, a moment of bliss, because we’ve been told that this is the purchase that will get us closer to being the person we want to be.

On the little white tag, there’s a listed price. But is that the only price we’re paying?

Life can get easier through minimalism, but it’s not the destination.

It still comes down to the journey of pursuing our dreams and what makes us fulfilled and happy. With the space that’s created from minimalism, we create more room for what we love.

What has your minimalism journey been like? What are some ways you spend the time that minimalism creates for you?
