Privacy Policy

Break the Twitch is a personal site, and I keep the data I collect to an absolute minimum. Here is exactly what is collected and why — in plain language.

Analytics — no cookies, no Google

I use my own first-party analytics built on Cloudflare. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising trackers, and no cookies used to follow you around. To count visitors I generate a daily-rotating, anonymized fingerprint (a salted hash of your IP address and browser) that is thrown away and regenerated every day — it cannot identify you and cannot link your visits from one day to the next. I never store your IP address. I only ever see aggregate numbers like page views, popular pages, referrers, and rough country.

If you sign up for the newsletter or a free download, I collect your name and email so I can send you what you asked for. This runs on mailpond, my own email tool — not a third party that resells data. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and you can ask me to delete you entirely at any time.

Course purchases

If you buy a course, payment is processed by Stripe — I never see or store your card details. I keep your email address and a record of what you bought so I can deliver your downloads and let you re-download them later.

Embedded content

Some pages embed YouTube videos. When a video loads, YouTube may set its own cookies and collect data as if you had visited YouTube directly. That is governed by Google's privacy policy, not mine.

What I will never do

I will never sell, rent, trade, or share the personal information I keep about you. I do not hand it to advertisers or data brokers, and I will not provide the personal data I keep about people to anyone else — except in the rare event the law strictly requires it. There are no ads, no comment system, and no membership accounts on this site.

Your data and your rights

You can ask me what data I hold about you, request a copy, or ask me to delete it — just email me and I will take care of it. The only exception is anything I am legally required to keep.

Children

This site is not intended for children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them.
